Mark S. Bishop

Managing Member

Mr. Bishop is known as a trusted advisor and skilled advocate for his clients.  Over the past seventeen years, Mr. Bishop has developed a broad and deep level of experience representing individuals and businesses in the federal and state court systems helping his clients to overcome their most significant legal challenges.  Mr. Bishop serves clients throughout northern Illinois including DuPage, Kane, Cook, Will, and Kendall Counties.

Mr. Bishop began his career working for a large west-suburban firm, Huck Bouma, PC in Wheaton.  As a member of the Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Bishop gained invaluable experience representing small and mid-sized business clients in sophisticated commercial litigation matters. The firm was also known as the leading estate planning and administration firm outside Chicago and, as a result, Mr. Bishop had the opportunity to represent fiduciaries, heirs, and beneficiaries in substantial estate, trust and guardianship litigation matters.  While at Huck Bouma, Mr. Bishop developed and grew a personal injury trial practice and became the primary attorney representing all the firm’s clients in profound injury and wrongful death matters.

Mr. Bishop continued to gain experience after transitioning his practice to a smaller firm, Roberts PC, in 2014 and Mr. Bishop ultimately decided that the best way to deliver the highest level of personalized services to his clients was to establish his own law firm.  In March of 2016, Mr. Bishop established the Law Offices of Mark S. Bishop, LLC.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Mr. Bishop represents the ownership and management of small and mid-sized companies providing advice and representation in critical legal matters that his clients face including: emergency litigation to protect confidential information and trade secrets, to enforce restrictive covenants, to stop unlawful trade practices, and to halt intellectual property infringement in the marketplace.  Mr. Bishop also represents business clients in disputes over key contracts, commercial lease defaults, breaches of shareholder agreements, enforcement of buy-sell agreements, enforcement of homeowners’ association covenants and restrictions, and a wide variety of other legal matters businesses face on a daily basis.

In addition to representing business owners, Mr. Bishop also represents individuals in contested estate, trust, and probate litigation. Mr. Bishop has extensive experience advising fiduciaries of estates and trust on proper administration as well representing fiduciaries in court on claims asserted by or against heirs, beneficiaries, or creditors.  Mr. Bishop represents parties in guardianship proceedings before the probate court when clients seek appointment of a guardian for a loved one who can no longer make suitable and safe decisions regarding their own affairs.

Mr. Bishop is also a strong advocate for individuals and/or families of individuals who have been severely injured or died as a result of someone else’s negligence.   Mr. Bishop has been obtaining millions of dollars in just compensation for personal injury clients throughout his career and represents clients suffering profound injuries in cases involving wrongful death, truck and automobile accidents, premises liability, nursing home neglect and abuse, and select medical-negligence matters.  Many other attorneys in the legal community refer personal injury matters to Mr. Bishop and our firm provides competitive referral fees on those cases.
